Deposit Guarantee Options
For many tenants, the prospect of paying three to six months' rent as a deposit can be daunting. Hybel offers a deposit guarantee, often referred to as a rental guarantee. This allows tenants to pay a smaller one-time-cost to a third party, rather than tying up capital in a traditional deposit. The deposit guarantee option is open for use for non-Norwegians and is delivered in collaboration with Tryg Forsikring. Hybel provides a guarantee that offers the same level of security for landlords as a conventional deposit. This simplifies the rental process and eliminates the need for setting up a customer relationship or account at a bank.
Note that, unlike a standard deposit agreement, a deposit guarantee is a one-time payment that is non-refundable at the end of the lease. Any claims must be reimbursed by the tenant.

Reduced Costs with Digital Rental
Save time and money by avoiding unnecessary travel before securing a rental. As long as you feel confident about your chosen property—perhaps with a trusted friend able to visit for you—you can proceed with signing the contract digitally if both you and your landlord agree. However, we always advise conducting reference checks and taking necessary precautions prior to signing any rental agreement.
Electronic Signing Options on Rental Contracts
All rental contracts are signed via the Signicat signing portal. Landlords with non-norwegian tenants can choose from the following signing methods:
- SMS
- Social login (Facebook, Google, LinkedIn)
In these scenarios, we recommend that the contract also should be signed physically upon moving in.
The signing process proceeds as follows:
- The landlord shares the rental contract with the tenant.
- The tenant signs the contract using one of the chosen methods.
- The landlord signs the contract.
- Both parties can download a PDF version containing electronic signatures.
International Payment Options
All payments go safely through Hybel. When we issue a new invoice, the notification includes information on how to make payments from abroad. We recommend that tenants utilize WISE for rental payments, as it allows you to enter a KID number as a reference, expediting the processing on our end. If WISE is not an option, bank transfers can be made using IBAN and SWIFT.
